Lecturer in Education (Maths Specialist) in Education

The School of Education are looking to recruit a Lecturer in Education and Teacher Education specifically to support the delivery of secondary Maths and Maths specialism in other areas of teaching delivery.

The key duties of the role-holder will be to contribute to the delivery, development and administrative support of the Education and Teacher Education courses, which will include the academic and personal support of students.

A degree and a postgraduate qualification (such as a Masters or PGCE) are essential. In addition, a clear specialism in Maths and experience in teaching the subject are required. A commitment to undertaking a PhD and support membership of AdvanceHE is a requirement of the post.

The successful candidate should demonstrate a practical awareness of current developments in Teacher Education (specifically in the Secondary sector), including developments in CPD and Professional development, as well as being able to facilitate the creation and maintenance of a range of links between courses and compulsory/post compulsory/lifelong learning placement providers.  Relevant teaching and course delivery experience is essential, as well as being able to undertake appropriate subject specific research and/or advanced creative practice and/or enterprise activity in the field.
