This accessibility statement applies to jobs.bolton.ac.uk

This website is run by Stonefish Software on behalf of Human Resources, University of Bolton. The University is committed to making its website accessible, in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.

We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website. For example, that means you should be able to:

(a) non-compliance with the accessibility regulations

  • On job adverts the Facebook 'Share' button does not have sufficient colour contrast. WCAG 1.4.3 Contrast (minimum) - The social media button is provided by Facebook and out of our control. This will be fixed in the next site release due Sept 2024

  • On job adverts the focus is barely visible on the 'X Post' button. WCAG 2.4.7 Focus Visible - The social media button is provided by X and out of our control. This will be fixed in the next site release due Sept 2024 

  • At 400% zoom, the cookie banner does not reflow to fit the webpage and the webpage does not reflow correctly as the user has to scroll horizontally to see full content WCAG 1.4.10 Reflow

  • At 400% zoom, the hamburger menu is not accessible using the keyboard WCAG 2.1.1 Keyboard

  • Some PDFs or other documents may not be accessible particularly job descriptions on older positions, these will be fixed as identified and newly published documents will meet accessibility standards. The issues relate to:

    WCAG 1.1.1 Non-text content,
    WCAG 2.4.2 Page titled
    WCAG 1.4.3 Contrast (Minimum)

PDFs and other documents

The accessibility regulations do not require us to fix PDFs or other documents published before 23 September 2018 if they’re not essential to providing our services. 

Any new PDFs or Word documents we publish will meet accessibility standards.

Preparation of this accessibility statement

This statement was prepared on 17th October 2024.

This website was last tested on  1st October 2024. against the WCAG 2.2 AA standard.

The testing was carried out by Stonefish Software, our own testing and the Government Digital Service.

Testing was done using manual tests and a variety of automated tools including Axe, Wave and Silktide.
